Cricket Ireland have named a squad of 13 for their Friends Provident Trophy clash with Hampshire this Sunday, 10 May.

Alex Cusack returns from injury in place of Peter Connell who is rested, while wicket-keeper Fintan McAllister is included, replacing Gary Wilson who played in the competition for Surrey last weekend.

Ireland coach Phil Simmons said: 'I decided to give Peter Connell a break after he looked a bit jaded. We've played a lot of cricket in recent weeks, and he hasn't really had a break. I've spoken with him, and he understands fully. We've a lot more cricket coming up, with the Twenty20 World Cup just weeks away now, and I want him fully refreshed for that.'

Simmons also revealed that all the players selected are free to play in the second round of the Bob Kerr Irish Senior Cup on Saturday.

The game at Eglinton gets under way at 10.45am and Cricket Ireland and Friends Provident have teamed up to ensure that the day is as family orientated and affordable as possible, with tickets priced at £10 for adults, buy one get one free, and £8 concessionary, also buy one get one free.

Children accompanied by adults are also admitted without charge. There will be plenty to keep the children interested, with face painting between 11am and 1pm and competitions with prizes sponsored by Friends Provident during the break.

The squad in full is as follows:

Kyle McCallan (capt) (Waringstown), Jeremy Bray (The Hills), Alex Cusack (Clontarf), Phillip Eaglestone (Strabane), James Hall (Waringstown), Fintan McAllister (Malahide), John Mooney (North County), Kevin O’Brien (Railway Union), Andrew Poynter (Clontarf), Paul Stirling (Carrickfergus), Reinhardt Strydom (YMCA), Regan West (Civil Service North), Andrew White (Instonians).
