The first Test between New Zealand and the West Indies in Dunedin ended in a draw after the last day's play was abandoned due to rain without a ball being bowled.
New Zealand were due to resume at 44 for two in their second innings with Tim McIntosh unbeaten on 24 and Daniel Flynn on four.
The second and final Test starts in Napier on 19 December.
