Australia trailed India by 204 runs with seven first innings wickets in hand at stumps on the third day of the fourth and final test today.
Replying to India's 526, Australia were 322 for three when stumps were drawn at Adelaide Oval with captain Ricky Ponting unbeaten on 79 and Michael Clarke not out 37.
Matthew Hayden had earlier made 103 to register his 30th test hundred while opener Phil Jaques made 60 and Mike Hussey 22.
Anil Kumble, Ishant Sharma and Irfan Pathan captured a wicket each for India who were without their injured strike bowler Rudra Pratap Singh for the whole day.
