England's victory bid in the second npower Test at Headingley has been delayed after rain prevented any play from taking place on day three.

Light rain fell at the scheduled start time of 11.00am and with the square heavily covered and grey clouds looming overhead umpires decided to delay play until 1.30pm.

But after another downpour, play was finally abondoned at 5.00pm.

West Indies will resume on 22-2 in the second innings when conditions permit and require a massive 402 more runs to make England bat again.

England coach Peter Moores said: 'You never count your chickens but we're in a really good position and all credit to the lads for putting us there.

'Hopefully the weather's good on Monday and we can get out there and play.'
