Inzamam-ul-Haq has also announced that he will quit ODIs

Inzamam-ul-Haq revealed he had been considering his position as Pakistan skipper before the tragic death of coach Bob Woolmer.

Inzamam last night announced his retirement from international one-day cricket and will also relinquish the captaincy of the Test side.

Pakistan suffered a humiliating early exit from the World Cup at the hands of Ireland on Saturday, but that disappointment has been quickly overshadowed by the sad news that 58-year-old Woolmer has passed away after being discovered unconscious in his hotel room in Jamaica.

'I had spoken to Bob on Saturday after the match against Ireland and I told him I wanted to talk about my future.

'It's a deeply emotional time for all of us, and for me, it will be difficult to continue.'
