Australia's one-day troubles continued on Tuesday with a one-wicket defeat to a Craig McMillan-inspired New Zealand and an injury to opener Matthew Hayden which may keep him out of the World Cup.
Hayden broke his toe midway through hitting 181 not out - an Aussie best in a ODI - as the tourists made 346 for five from their 50 overs.
But McMillan smashed a 67-ball century - he was eventually out for 117 - to lead a remarkable run chase with Brendon McCullum chipping in a vital 88 not out as the Black Caps squeezed home with three balls to spare.
The win completes a 3-0 series win for New Zealand and extends Australia's run to six defeats in their last seven ODIs.
