Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has filed an appeal against his two-year ban for doping.
Shoaib has hired renowned lawyer Abid Hasan Manto and filed his appeal with the Pakistan Cricket Board's anti-doping officer, Dr Sohail Saleem.
Shoaib, 31, was given the ban on November 1 after testing positive for nandrolone.
Given his age and injury record, it is widely believed that his international career is effectively over if the two-year ban stands.
Mohammad Asif, who was handed a one-year ban for a similar offence, filed his appeal on Monday. Asif has hired former Test cricketer Aftab Gul to represent him.
