Centuries put Pakistan in control

Quick-fire centuries from Shahid Afridi and Kamran Akmal prompted Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq to declare during the afternoon session on day two of the first Test against India in Lahore.

Younis Khan and Mohammad Yousuf had already reached three figures by the time Afridi and Akmal started their onslaught as the hosts reached 679 for seven.

Afridi's 103 came from just 80 deliveries with Akmal's 102 not out being accumulated from one ball more.

Younis just failed to notch a double century earlier in the day and Yousuf was also dismissed before lunch.

Starting the day on 326 for two, a couple of personal landmarks were quickly achieved as Younis passed 150 and Yousuf completed his century - his 15th in Test cricket.

The pair also racked up their 300-run partnership in just 369 balls.

India made a solid start in reply, moving on to 22 without loss at tea. Virender Sehwag was unbeaten on nine with captain Rahul Dravid not out seven.
