Ireland U19s have beaten Canada today in their second group match of the Cricket World Cup Plate Championship by 155 runs.
Ireland batted first and scored 265 for 9, Kevin O’Brien 51 and Eoin Morgan 44. In reply Canada were all out for 110 with Andrew Riddles, Eoin Morgan and Robert Rankin all taking two wickets. Eoin Morgan was voted Man of the Match, his second of the tournament.
Ireland’s opponents in the semi-final will not be known until after their final group match against host nation Bangladesh on Friday 27th February. Victory would see Ireland top their group and likely to avoid Test nation Australia, who are favourites to win the Plate Championship.
