South Africa defeat Kenya

South Africa have bounced back from their defeat against the West Indies to score an emphatic 10-wicket victory over Kenya in their Pool B World Cup game at the North West Oval in Potchefstroom.

South African opening batsmen Gary Kirsten and Herschelle Gibbs reached the target of 141 with ease in just 21.2 overs as Gibbs rattled up 87 off 66 balls and Kirsten added 52 from 63 balls to belt the East Africans all over the park.

Kenya were bowled out earlier for 140 in their innings, with Lance Klusener picking up four for 18 in his eight-over spell. The openers incredibly scored 98 of their runs in boundaries, with Gibbs smashing 12 fours and four sixes while Kirsten was rather subdued with his nine fours.
