England pulled off a five-run win over India in the final one-day international today to finish the six-match series level at 3-3. Captained by Nasser Hussain, England fought back from 3-1 down and bowled India out for 250 off the penultimate ball to level the series.
"(Andrew) Flintoff and (Darren) Gough batted very well in the closing stages. We should have scored nearly 300, but were never out of the game,” said Hussain.
“Two months ago, there was all this talk about the team not coming here at all. It’s been a very, very fulfilling trip and I’d like to thank the Indian people for supporting the cricket so much. We haven’t transformed all that much. Three-all is not worth going over the top about. But we have won eight out of 11 games, so we are going int the right direction,” he added.
