Craig White was the hero for England as they enjoyed their best day so far in the second test against India at Motera. England made 407 in their first innings with India finishing the day on 71 for two. White hit his first Test hundred early in the day which also saw some fine bowling from England’s Ashley Giles and Andrew Flintoff.
England are still one down in the three-match series which finishes in Bangalore next week but White says he is excited and encouraged by today’s performance. “We had our ups and downs in the game. I went out there and had a bit of luck, which I thought was important. It was my day today,” said White.
“It was a great day for England. We put 400 on the board and then nipped a couple out. The game is up to India now. It is exciting.”
