Tendulkar brought to book

India's Sachin Tendulkar has appeared before an International Cricket Council panel, amid accusations of ball tampering, during the Port Elizabeth test with South Africa. Tendulkar was questioned by ICC referee, Mike Denness, about, "changing the condition of the ball".

Tendulkar allegedly lifted the seam on the ball, illegal under ICC conditions, but the Indian star was quoted as saying: "After having played international cricket for 12 years, I do know what is right and what is wrong." The player's actions came under scrutiny after TV pictures were submitted to the ICC, which showed Tendulkar touching the seam of the ball.

Three other Indian players, Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh and Shiv Sunder Das also appeared before Denness, on a charge of excessive appealing. South Africa are on top in the Test, having posted an imposing target in the First Innings, which India failed to get close to.
