Hansie Cronje, recently fired as Captain of South Africa, after admitting accepting money from a bookmaker, but still stressing his innocence, has hinted that his international career is over. The former Leicestershire and Ireland batsman, said he was deeply moved by his teams win over Australia in a one day international.
He further added 'I am truly proud to have been associated with this side and wish Shaun (Pollock - the new captain) and the rest of the team nothing but success in the future.'
Meanwhile Lance Klusener has strongly denied reports that he informed Indian police about Cronje's alledged wrong-doings. Klusener was reportedly seen to argue with Cronje in a hotel foyer and is then alledged to have then 'ratted' on his captain to the Indian auhtorities. 'Its crazy talk. I was never involved in any row with Hansie in any hotel foyer. I had no idea that there was anything untoward going on in India', he said.
