Sinead McNulty has resigned as Ard Stiurthóir (chief executive officer) of the Camogie Association.

The Dublin native and former head of sport at TU Dublin has been in the role for the last six years, having also worked in sport development roles in Dublin City Council and Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council.

The association is currently in the process of amalgamation along with the GAA and the Ladies Gaelic Football Association, however, there is no exact timeline for completion after the latest update from the Steering Group on Integration (SGI) chaired by former president Mary McAleese.

"After careful consideration, I have decided to step down as Ard Stiurthóir of An Cumann Camógaíochta," said McNulty, via her LinkedIn profile.

"The last 6 years have been an incredible journey, and I'm immensely proud of what we've accomplished together.

"To the entire Camogie team, your passion, dedication, and resilience have been the driving force behind our success. Thank you for your trust, commitment and hard work. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to have led such a brilliant and dedicated team and worked with amazing volunteers across the country and internationally.

"While this chapter is closing, I am excited to watch camogie continue to thrive. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for all of you.

"I have amazing memories, and am now looking forward to a short break, before starting my next career adventure."

McNulty's departure is the second high-profile Gaelic games-related exit announced in recent days following Helen O'Rourke declaring her intention to step down as CEO of the Ladies Gaelic Football Association (LGFA) at the end of the year.
