The 2016 Camogie championship format features a number of changes to prevent a simialar scenario to the 'coin-toss' controversy which marred last season's competition.
Changes to this year's championship include the awarding of three points for a win rather than two, which will lessen the likelihood of teams finishing on level points after the group stages.
There was controversy last summer when Dublin and Clare finished level on points and head-to-head record. With scoring difference then not taken into consideration it was initially proposed that a coin toss would decided which side progressed to the quarter finals before the Camogie Association was forced to offer a play-off.
Next year, teams that finish level on points after the group stages will be separated on the basis of superior scoring difference. In the event of teams finishing level on scoring difference, a play-off will be used to decide which team progresses. Knock-out games will again be decided with extra-time if necessary, a feature which was introduced in 2015.
All-Ireland champions Cork will begin the defence of their title with a group game against Munster rivals Waterford on 18 June next year.
Cork and Waterford have been drawn in Group 1 of the championship along with Clare, Limerick, Offaly and Wexford.
Last season's semi-finalists Wexford take on Limerick and Clare face Offaly in the first round of the round-robin fixtures.
All-Ireland runners-up Galway are in Group 2 with Derry, Dublin, Kilkenny and Tipperary.
On day one, Galway take on Tipp while 2015 semi-finalists Kilkenny face Derry. Dublin have a bye week.
Second place in each group will play the third-placed finishers from the other group in the quarter-finals on 30 July.
The group winners await in the semi-finals on 13 August with the the Liberty Insurance All-Ireland Camogie finals at senior, intermediate and premier junior level all taking place in Croke Park on Sunday 11 September 11.
