Kerry GAA have established their first Camogie County Board.
The board is comprised of members from four of the five clubs that have been established in Kerry.
Wayne Doyle from Laune Rangers has been elected to Chairperson, while Helen Maunsell from Abbeyleix is the Vice-Chairperson.
This follows huge steps in the development of camogie in Kerry in recent times and there are now five clubs in the county, Laune Rangers, Abbeyleix, Cillard, Causeway and Duagh.
Camogie Development Officer Mary O'Connor believes this is another big move for camogie in the area. She said: 'Having a county board now brings a lot more structure to the game in Kerry. There is certainly the passion here for camogie and now hopefully we will see plenty of interest in joining the five locals club and grow from that.'
The development of camogie in Kerry has been made possible through a special budget measure granted to the Camogie Assosciation by Minister for Sport, John O'Donoghue, T.D. through the Irish Sports Council.
