Armagh overcome Tyrone

Mary Black was on song for Armagh when the Orchard county overcame Tyrone 6-09 to 2-03 in today's Ulster junior semi-final played in Derrynoose, (Armagh).

An All-Ireland junior medal winner of 1993,fullforward Mary was in top form scoring 4-06 in the opening half.

Tyrone rallied well in the second half with two goals from Julie O'Callaghan but further goals from Bernie Murray and Emma O'Farrell put paid to any hopes that Tyrone had of springing a surprise on the League finalists.

Armagh will face the Ulster junior defending champions Derry in the Ulster final when they overcame Down 0-11 to 1-07 in a very close semi-final in Castledawson (Derry).

Gráinne Mc Goldrick was in top form for the Oak leaf county when they overcame the Mourne county girls despite a second half goal from Fionnuala Carr, daughter of the former Down footballer Ross.
