Antrim win Women's Minor semi-Final

Naomi McCurry was the toast of Antrim as she knocked in the winning goal with five minutes remaining in the Ulster Minor championship semi-final which saw Antrim pip Armagh 2-07 to 3-03 in a thrilling encounter.

Level 1-03 each at the break, Antrim knocked over 0-04 immediately after the restart and were 1-0-7 up before Armagh hit a purple patch.

Two goals within minutes of each other from Jane McCooey and Angela McCusker put the Orchard county 3-03 ahead to Antrim's 1-07. However, Naomi McCurry who got Antrim's opening goal stuck the ball in the back of the Armagh net to put them into the Ulster Final.

There was some consolation for Armagh juniors who had a comprehensive 9-08 to 0-01 win over Antrim in Corrigan Park. Two first half goals from Deirdre McCusker and a hat-trick from Bernie McBride put the Orchard county ahead 5-04 to 0-01 at the break.

Further goals from Joan Rice and Deirdre McCusker again (2-0 each) in the second half meant certain curtins for a poor Antrim side, whose only score came midway in the opening half from Brenda Clarke.

Offaly remained on course to defend their Leinster title as they over came Wexford in the Leinster junior championship 1/4 final 1-13 to Wexford's 2-04.

Level twice in the opening half, the faithful county lead 1-12 to 1-01 at the break, the Offaly goal having come from Sharon Daly midway.

Strong defensive play from Wexford in the second half kept the Leinster champions to one point from Majella Bergin in the twelfth minute. However, Wexford failed to put the ball over the bar or under until Louise Stafford knocked in her side's second goal with time almost up.
