Lewis Crocker will travel to Brisbane to defend the belt

Lewis Crocker's defence of the IBF World Welterweight title against Liam Paro will take place on 24 June in Brisbane, it has been confirmed.

Paro is the mandatory challenger for the belt and his promotional team No Limit Boxing won the purse bid to stage the fight back in February.

As previously flagged, they have chosen home turf, with the Pat Rafter Arena the venue.

Paro (30) will present a huge challenge to the unbeaten Crocker.

He was world champion at light welterweight and boasts an impressive record of 27 victories from 28 fights, including claiming the IBF title against Subriel Matías in 2024.

Paro is managed by Meath's Brian Peters, best known for working with Katie Taylor and Bernard Dunne.

Crocker twice defeated Limerick’s Paddy Donovan in securing the belt.

Donovan had been due to meet Paro to determine the number one contender for the belt, only to suffer an injury. As a result, Paro was installed mandatory and the title fight has materialised.

Meanwhile, Donovan is in action this Friday against Karen Chukhadzhian in Mannheim, Germany.

It is a difficult mission for the Irish fighter against the big-punching Ukranian who has 26 wins in his career and just three defeats.

The victor will become number one contender for the winner of Crocker v Paro, giving the potential for a trilogy bout between the two Irish fighters if they are both successful.
