Pierce O'Leary will headline at the 3Arena for the first time later this year when he defends his IBO world super-lightweight title against Mark Chamberlain.
Chamberlain (17-1-1, 12 KOs) previously withdrew from a bout with O'Leary scheduled for last March due to illness.
O'Leary instead took on Maxi Hughes on that planned fight date and secured the best victory of his career to date by stopping the veteran to win the IBO crown.
The only defeat of Chamberlain’s career was against another Englishman, Josh Padley, who has gone from strength to strength since. That included a creditable display against one of the biggest names in the sport, Shakur Stevenson.
Dubliner O’Leary had a significant fanbase present at the 3Arena in March as chief support to Anthony Cacace versus Jazza Dickens.
The refixed Chamberlain bout will take place on Saturday, 1 August.
Now topping the bill, victory would move the 26-year-old closer to a shot at a more significant world honour.
The nine-time Irish amateur champion is undefeated in 19 fights. He is currently ranked fifth by the WBC and 12 by the IBF.
"This is a fight we simply had to get done," said promoter Frank Warren. "Everyone was so excited by the prospect of it back in March, so we just couldn't let it pass by.
"It is one of those fights where you just know it will deliver. Two young talents, big punchers who don’t take a backward step. All the ingredients are there for a real barnstormer, with a world title on top this time.
"Pierce is spearheading a revival of professional boxing in Dublin, and the reaction to his March homecoming was astounding. The show also witnessed the debuts of two incredible Irish talents in Bobbi Flood and Adam Olaniyan, so there are many special years ahead for the Dublin fight scene.
"1 August will be another spectacular night of action at the 3Arena and, believe me, it will be worth the wait."
The undercard will feature several Irish fighters, with the last fight night at the venue seeing 12 feature in total.
That may be reduced on this occasion with Katie Taylor’s Croke Park bout likely for September in what could be a golden period for professional boxing in the nation.
