Caoimhin Agyarko maintained his 100% professional record to land the WBA Continental Super Welterweight title, beating Ryan Kelly by majority decision in Sheffield.
The Belfast prospect took the fight at short notice but the risk was rewarded as he came through a tough battle with England's Ryan Kelly to remain unbeaten in the paid ranks.
Following a quiet 2024, Agyarko is attempting to make his way towards world level and took a major step on the high-profile Matchroom fight night.
Boxing on the undercard of the WBC super-lightweight contest where local favourite Dalton Smith proved too powerful for Canada's Mathieu Germain at the Canon Medical Arena in Sheffield, Agyarko was awarded the decision by two of the three ringside judges, with one calling it a tie.
Agyarko won the 10-round contest 95-95, 97-94, 96-94 as his professional record moves to 17 victories and no defeats.
The former amateur national champion was ranked number five in the world on the WBA rankings before the fight and the victory should open doors to much bigger fights in the near future.
