Callum Walsh will headline an Irish boxing extravaganza at Madison Square Garden in New York for St Patrick's Day weekend.

The Cork prospect is looking to maintain his unblemished start to his professional career as he goes toe-to-toe with Scottish fighter Dean Sutherland (19-1, 7 KOs) at The Theater venue in the iconic New York arena.

Walsh is looking to make it lucky number 13 on Sunday, 16 March, as he aims to add to his 12 victories in the paid ranks, which include 12 knock-outs.

The 23-year-old Walsh (12-0, 10 KOs), trained by Hall of Famer Freddie Roach will be making the third defence of his WBC Continental Americas Super Welterweight title.

"It's a thrill to be fighting back at Madison Square Garden for the third time and again on St Patrick’s Day Weekend," said Walsh. "I’ll be ready to put on a show for the biggest Irish celebration in New York City."

Fellow Irish prospect Thomas Carty (10-0, 9 KOs) is also in action as the big Dublin heavyweight makes his New York debut, also aiming to maintain his 100% winning record since turning professional.

Carty will aim to introduce himself to the New York Irish when he faces Dajuan Calloway (10-3, 8 KOs) from Ohio in a scheduled eight rounder.

Fighting in the ten-round co-main event, Dublin super welterweight Emmet Brennan (5-0, 1KO) faces Kevin Cronin (8-2-1,4 KOs) from Kerry in a rematch from their hotly contested clash won by Brennan at the 3Arena event in September.

Former world title challenger Feargal McCrory (16-1, 8 KOs) returns against Brandon Benitez (21-3, 9 KOs) from Mexico over ten rounds.

Featherweight Donagh Keary, a former underage amateur champion, will make his pro debut in a four-round bout against an opponent to be announced.
