Ireland's Aidan Walsh produced a commanding performance to beat UAE's Husain Alkandari in his Olympic qualifiers first-round bout in Italy on Tuesday.

The light middleweight, who won a bronze medal at the Tokyo Games, stopped Alkandari in the first round at the E-Work Arena in Busto Arsizio.

It was straigtforward for the Belfast man - competing in the 71kg category - as he kept alive his dreams of making it to the Paris Games.

Martin McDonagh (92+kg), Daina Moorehouse (50kg), Jude Gallagher (57kg) and Kelyn Cassidy (80kg) have also racked up wins over the last two days.

All fighters will seal a ticket to the Olympics if they make it as far as the semi-finals.
