Dylan Eagleson and Gabriel Dossen to fight for gold after soaring into European Championship finals

Dylan Eagleson and Gabriel Dossen will fight for European Championship gold medals in Armenia after winning their bantamweight and middleweight semi-finals respectively.

The Team Ireland boxers were both guaranteed bronze medals after making it to the last-four.

But both will now have the opportunity to try and bring gold home in their respective deciders on Monday.

Eagleson, the 19-year-old from Bangor was first in the ring and faced Daniel Panev Asenov of Bulgaria in the bantamweight semi-final.

But a 5-0 win by unanimous decision means Eagleson will upgrade from that bronze and now has the opportunity to fight for gold.

He will face France's Billal Bennama in the bantamweight final on Monday.

Gabriel Dossen

Dossen followed suit in reaching a final in his weight class after beating Italy's Salvatore Cavallaro in a tightly contested middleweight semi-final.

The Galway fighter won 4-1 by split decision and will face either an English or Scottish opponent in the final.
