Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano weighed in at the Hulu Theatre in Madison Square Garden with both fighters making weight ahead of Saturday night's historic bout.

Taylor's undisputed lightweight title is on the line for the bout that is being labelled "For History", without doubt the most important female boxing fight in the sport.

Roared on by thousands of travelling fans at the iconic New York venue, amidst a show-biz spectacle, including wrestling superstars, stars of the sport and Irish fiddle players adding to the electric atmosphere.

The lightweight division required fighters to come under 135lbs on the day before the fight and both Serrano and Taylor were comfortably below weight.

Looking relaxed and ready to rumble, holder of all five belts, Katie weighed in at 134.6lbs on the scales, while Serrano was a full pound lighter at 133.6.

Following the weigh-in the two fighters faced off for the obligatory photo shoot, with Taylor looking taller and naturally bigger than her opponent, who enjoyed most of her success in the sport at the lower featherweight division.

There's definitely something different about this fight, the biggest fight in female history" said Katie Taylor.

"Thanks to all the Irish for coming over, I'm so grateful.

"I feel great. I'm ready to step in and ready to hear those words, and still world champion."

"And they said women can't sell, are they out of their mind," yelled Serrano. "Two of the best pound for pound, going at it, making history at the Garden.

"Just be vintage Amanda Serrano," added the Puerto Rican New Yorker, when asked what she needed to do to win the fight.

"You'll never beat the Irish," said Katie's promoter Eddie Hearn, who then went on to proclaim that his fighter is the best Irish sports star of all time.

"For the Irish, this is the start of your losing streak. Just like Conor McGregor," added Jake Paul to bring a lively and entertaining afternoon to an end.
