Carly McNaul has missed out on a medal at the 73rd International Strandja tournament in Sofia, Bulgaria.

The Belfast native was the only member of Team Ireland in action on Thursday and was facing Ukrainian opponent Tetiana Kob in a women's flyweight quarter-final.

But McNaul suffered a unanimous defeat, losing 5-0 on the judges scorecards.

The 32-year-old had reached the last-eight after a 4-1 split decision victory over Kazakhstan's Zhaina Shekerbekova on Monday.

On Friday, Olympic champion Kellie Harrington and Aoife O'Rourke, who have both secured at least bronze medals, will be in semi-final action.
