Jason Quigley's world title bout against WBO champion Demetrius Andrade on 19 November has been officially confirmed.
The Donegal man earned the biggest win of his career in May with a points victory over Shane Mosley Jr and targeted a fight with the unbeaten Andrade in the aftermath of that victory.
That will take place at the SNHU Arena in Manchester, New Hampshire and will be broadcast on the worldwide DAZN streaming service.
The bout will represent a big step up in class for Quigley as the American has won all 30 fights but struggled to land unification bouts in the division.
Andrade has already beaten one Irishman – Luke Keeler – in January 2020.
Quigley suffered a big setback in 2019 when he was beaten by Tureano Johnson, having slowly built up a 16-fight winning run over five years, but put himself back in the frame to challenge elite fighters with the win last summer.
I've worked my whole career to get into this position of becoming world champion," said Quigley.
"Demetrius is a great champion but now it’s my time and that world title is coming back to Ireland."
Absolutely brilliant news for @jay_quigley he will fight @BooBooAndrade end of November for the World Title. I'm delighted for Jason and his coach @AndyLeeBoxing this is a great opportunity... Ireland is rooting for you bro! 🇮🇪🥊☘

The fight will be part of three world title fights on the card, with the champion in the main event promoted by Eddie Hearn.
Also on the card, Murodjon Akhmadaliev will put his IBF and WBA super-bantamweight titles on the line against American Ronny Rios while WBC flyweight champion Julio Cesar Martinez will meet McWilliams Arroyo in a fight that was due to take place in February until a hand injury forced Martinez out.
The fourth World title bout is the second step on the path to crowing an undisputed women's champion at 140lbs as Kali Reis takes on Jessica Camara for the WBA, IBO and vacant WBO straps.
The Matchroom chief does not represent Quigley but told Pro Boxing Fans last month that he is fond of the Irish boxer and was favouring him as the opposition.
With Quigley based in the US for much of his career, Hearn believes it will be an easier sell to the audience in terms of tickets sales.
Hearn said: "This is a fantastic quadruple header of world title action. Demetrius wants to show the other champions that he is the man to beat at middleweight, so he needs to put on a big performance against a hungry and proud Irish challenger in Jason."
