Michaela Walsh took another major step towards Olympic qualification in Paris on Friday as she eased past home favourite Mona Mestiaen at the European qualifiers.
Walsh never looked in trouble as she closed out a 4-1 featherweight victory to progress to the quarters on Sunday.
If the Belfast 27-year-old wins that, her ticket to Tokyo will be guaranteed, but even if Walsh loses she still looks nailed on to make the Games.
Russian top seed Liudmila Vorontsova suffered a surprise loss to Italian Irma Testa, which greatly enhanced Walsh's chances of qualifying through the ranking system.
It was a good day too for Kellie Harrington.
The Dubliner outclassed Polish fighter Aneta Rygielska 5-0 and now heads for a huge showdown against dangerous French opponent Maiva Hamadouche on Saturday evening.
Harrington can also secure her Olympic place with a win but she'll face a serious test against Hamadouche, the reigning IBF super featherweight pro champion.
If Harrington loses, she will get a second chance in a box-off with one of the other quarter-final losers.
