Aoife O'Rourke had to settle for a bronze medal at the 72nd Strandja Multi-Nations in Sofia, Bulgaria after she was edged out in her semi-final bout.

O'Rourke was up Naomi Graham of the USA and was beaten in all three rounds, albeit pushing her opponent all the way.

The Irish fighter was aggressive from the off and stood toe-to-toe with her rival but Graham showed slightly more accuracy and eventually got the nod from the judges.

Brendan Irvine will also leave Bulgaria with a bronze medal after he was withdrawn from his semi-final with Dan Asenov of Bulgaria.

Irvine suffered a clash of heads in his quarter-final bout and IABA High-Performance Director Bernard Dunne said that he had been withdrawn as a precaution.
