Death of former Olympic boxer Harry Perry aged 86

Double Olympian and Irish Boxing Hall Of Fame inductee Harry Perry has passed away at the age of 86.

During the 1950s, Perry won nine Irish titles at four different weights. 

The Dubliner represented his country at two different Olympics, Melbourne in 1956 and Rome in 1960.

He also won a bronze medal in the European Championship in Lucerne in 1959, but unfortunately had to withdraw from the semi-final due to a hand injury.

Perry was inducted into the Boxing Hall of Fame in 2007.
