Michael Conlan's bout against Colombian fighter Belmar Preciado at Madison Square Garden on St Patrick's Day has been postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Top Rank, Conlan's promoters, initially announced its events on 14 March and 17 March at the Hulu Theater would be held without spectators but an update late last night announced both shows would be called off.
Conlan (13-0, 7KOs) wrote on Twitter: "Fight is off, gutted to say the least spent a lot of time away from my family & spent a lot of money on training for this but unfortunately it's been postponed to hopefully a date very soon!
"Wishing everyone health at this weird time."
Top Rank's decision, taken after consulting with the New York State Athletic Commission, has also led to Shakur Stevenson's WBO featherweight title defence against Miguel Marriaga on Saturday being shelved.
Also, postponed is Saturday's bout in Boston, featuring Irish boxers Ray Moylette and Larry Fryers.
The duo were due to compete for the New England welterweight rankings title, with the contest rescheduled for September.
