John Joe Nevin beat Freddy Fonseca to claim the Super Featherweight WBA International title at York Hall on Saturday night. 

The Mullingar man claimed a unanimous-decision win over his Nicaraguan opponent over 10 rounds. 

Nevin, who was a silver medalist at the 2012 Olympics, moves to 14-0. 

Elsewhere, Paddy 'The Real Deal' Donovan put on a masterclass performance to win all six rounds of his welterweight encounter with the tough and durable Nicaraguan fighter, Danny Mendoza at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow.  

On the same card, light welter Pierce O'Leary beat Englishman Chris Adaway over four rounds.
