Amy Broadhurst and Christina Desmond both marched into the quarter-finals at the World Women's Elites in Siberia on Wednesday.
Lightweight southpaw Broadhurst earned a 30-27, 29-28, 29-28, 29-28, 29-28 unanimous decision over Aneta Rygielska of Poland and now prepares for another showdown with No 1 seed Mira Potkonen.
The pair met in the semis of the European Elites in August, with Potkonen coming out on top.
The Finn is well known to Irish fans. She famously beat Katie Taylor at the Rio Games in 2016, and defeated Kellie Harrington - en route to gold - in the last four of the 2018 European Elites.
Cork welterweight Desmond also progressed with a highly impressive 30-26, 30-37,30-27,30-27, 29-28 unanimous decision victory over Canadian Myriam Da Silva.
Next up for Desmond is a clash with Turkey's Busenaz Surmeneli.
Both Irish fighters will go for bronze in Thursday's evening session, which begins at 11am our time.
