Walsh defeated Mali’s Carmara Fatoumata via unanimous decision to join Cavan’s Ceire Smith and Cork’s Christina Desmond in the last 16, where she will meet Russia's Liudmila Vorontsova on Tuesday morning for a place in the quarter-finals.
The final score cards read 30-25,30-25,30-25,30-25, and 30-26 in Walsh's favour.
The Belfast fighter outclassed her West African opponent who was forced to take a standing count in the third round.
