Michael Nevin's World Elite Championships hopes ended at the last-16 stage on Monday afternoon as the Irish middleweight was squeezed out by Russian Gleb Bakshi.

Nevin showed plenty against the eighth-seeded home favourite but came out the wrong side of a 3-2 split decision.

Earlier, Aidan Walsh was also beaten on a split decision by England's Pat McCormack in their last-32 welterweight clash.

Belfast fighter Walsh produced an impressive performance in defeat but three of the five judges went against him on the scorecards.
