Aaron McKenna maintained the unbeaten start to his pro career following victory over Loretto Olivas over night in California.

The "Silencer" won on a unanimous decision, with scores of 60-53 across the board, to bring his record to 7 and 0 (4KOs).

McKenna sent the Mexican boxer to the canvas early in the first round but Olivas beat the count and continued on for six more rounds of punishment at the hands of the 19 year-old Monaghan native.

It's the first time that the Irishman, who is now living and training in LA, has gone the distance. The longest previous bout had been four rounds, but McKenna was pushed all the way, despite his height and reach advantage, as he inflicted a first professional defeat on Olivas.
