Kellie Harrington has a gold medal in her sights when she takes on Thai southpaw Sudaporn Seesondee at AIBA World Elite lightweight final in New Delkhi later this morning.

The Dubliner produced a fine display of counter-punching as she sealed a unanimous points victory over Karina Ibragimova from Kazakhstan in the semi-final.

In all, Harrington has won three fights on unanimous decisions and had one split verdict en route to the final.

Her exploits this week makes her the first Irish fighter to reach World Championship finals in two different weight classes. She will also join Katie Taylor and Joe Ward as the only Irish boxers to compete in more than one World Championship final.

Seesondee has earned three splits and a unanimous verdict.
