Carl Frampton will fight Josh Warrington for the IBF World Featherweight title at the Manchester Arena on 22 December, it was confirmed this morning.
Frampton defeated Luke Jackson at Windsor Park in August to retain the WBO interim featherweight title, with the main belt being held by Oscar Valdez.
Warrington surprised Lee Selby in Elland Road in May to claim the IBF strap.
The Belfast boxer is familiar with the 20,000-seater Manchester venue, beating Scott Quigg earlier in his career, and will now have the chance to create another memorable night against the up-and-coming Leeds fighter Warrington.
Frampton said: "Me and Warrington have big fan bases that make a lot of noise, so I think first and foremost the atmosphere is going to be fantastic and possibly a bit hostile as well.
"You're going to see two hungry guys in their prime, Warrington has just won this world title and isn't going to give it up easily.
"I know what it's like to be a world champion and I want that feeling back again, I think there is going to be fireworks in this fight."
IT’S ON!!! 👊👊👊
