More than 800,000 people paid to watch a ‘white-collar’ boxing match between two YouTube stars in a fight that made Conor McGregor’s bout with Floyd Mayweather look like Ali v Foreman.
YouTube performers KSI and Logan Paul fought for six rounds in front of 18,000 fans at the Manchester Arena, with tickets costing up to £80.
Paul, from the US, recently hit controversy after he posted a video which showed the body of an apparent suicide victim in Japan, causing YouTube to cut some business ties with him.
KSI, whose real name is Olajide William Olatunji, is a British YouTuber who is best known for his FIFA streams but has also been involved in controversy and was banned for life from a videogame expo for the alleged sexual harassment of attendees in 2012.
The two slapped, stumbled and hugged their way around the Manchester ring for six rounds before the predictable result of a majority draw, which will allow them to repeat the money-spinning bout.
The crowd booed as the match was declared a draw and afterwards KSI said: "I think there's only one thing to do. I think we have to have a rematch. Let's do it. That was fun."
Paul added: "I think it's what the people want. Let's give them a rematch. "
The younger brothers of both men Jake Paul and Deji Olatunji also fought on the card, with Paul winning, although a rematch there is also in motion.
With more than 800,000 people paying €8 to watch the fight stream there is unfortunately plenty of incentive for everyone involved to do it all again.
