Carl Frampton’s opponent Luke Jackson has revealed the injuries he sustained in Saturday’s interim world title bout in Belfast.

The Australian boxer’s corner threw in the towel in the ninth round at Windsor Park.

He bravely got up from a crunching body shot in the eighth round but by that stage he had already taken a considerable amount of damage.

Jackson revealed: "You don’t play boxing! Two perforated ear drums - left ear in round three, and right ear in round six and then the body shot in round 8.

"I wanted to finish the fight but I respect my coach and my team’s decision. I’ll live to fight another day."

Frampton is expected to fight world champion Josh Warrington in England before the end of the year after the convincing win.
