Katie Taylor was content with her evening's work in stopping opponent Kimberley Connor in the third round and says she's now fully focused on 6 October bout with Cindy Serrano in Chicago.
Taylor delivered an assured performance in disposing of Connor in the O2 in London, with one stunning combination in the first round that rocked her opponent and gave an indication of what was to come.
Speaking to IFLTV afterwards, Taylor said she showed greater composure than in previous fights and paid credit to her game opponent.
"I thought the finish was definitely a huge improvement. In previous fights, when I hurt someone I would have rushed in but I stayed nice and composed today.
"I'm very happy with the finish obviously. Especially seeing as I got a lump under my eye, I was happy to finish early.
"Every opponent that comes in boxes above and beyond what they can do. She boxed very well I thought. She was aggressive early on and I was actually quite surprised by her. I didn't know she was going to be as aggressive as that early on."
Taylor now faces into a bout with Cindy Serrano in Chicago on the first week of October. In an interview in July, Serrano claimed that Taylor was avoiding a fight with her younger and more highly rated sister Amanda.
But Taylor says she's open to a fight with Amanda Serrano, joking that she could probably fight both of them on the one night.
"I'm delighted with the stoppage. I needed that stoppage today. And I can now focus on the Cindy Serrano fight.
"Now I'm looking forward. It's a huge night for me and a huge fight. People I think are really excited about this one.
"I think the clash of styles is going to be great. It makes for a very exciting fight. Afterwards, we can get the other sister (Amanda Serrano) or else if she wants to fight on the same night I can do that as well."
