Paddy Barnes made it four pro wins out of four with a convincing points verdict over Spain's Juan Hinostroza in Edinburgh on Friday night.
Barnes, fighting on the undercard of Gary Cornish's British Heavyweight title clash against Sam Sexton, knocked down his opponent in the second and rarely looking flustered.
He was, however, taken the distance by the plucky Hinostroza - who came into this with five wins, seven defeats and one draw from his 13 career bouts - before the judges scored it 60-53 in the Belfast man's favour.
Hinostrova hit the canvas after a punishing Barnes body shot and sweet right-hander but he stood for the count and showed guts to regain some composure.
Barnes dominated but a final-round flurry from Hinostrozaearned him some credit, even if it wasn't enough to earn victory,
Next up for Barnes is an appearance on Carl Frampton’s homecoming card in Belfast on 18 November, potentially against another Spaniard, bantamweight champion Moncho Miras.
Wee @paddyb_ireland Barnes does it again. Belfast here he comes 👊
