The British Boxing Board of Control has fined Paddy Barnes’ vanquished opponent Stefan Slavchev following his antics at the Titanic Exhibition Centre in Belfast. last Saturday.
In what was Barnes’ first professional bout, the double Olympic bronze medal winner secured victory after the Bulgarian was disqualified in the fourth round after lifting the Belfast man off his feet. Slavchev had received an earlier warning in scheduled six-round contest.
And the BBBC have since withheld part of Slavchev’s purse as punishment. The amount in question is undisclosed but thought to be £500.
