Katie Taylor is in negotiations to turn professional with the Matchroom team, promoter Eddie Hearn has told RTÉ Sport.
The Bray fighter could make her debut as soon as next month if a deal is reached.
Irish boxing's interim head coach Zaur Antia confirmed to told RTÉ Sport that Taylor would not be travelling to Bulgaria for the European Women's Championships in November.
The IABA is expected to finalise its squad for next month's Europeans by the end of this week.
