Darren O’Neill beat Swedish heavyweight Mustafa El Molla at the Olympic qualifiers in Baku, Azerbaijan on Saturday night.

The Kilkenny southpaw dominated all three rounds en route to earning a unanimous decision and a ticket into the last 16.

Wexford light-welter Dean Walsh and Tipperary super-heavyweight Dean Gardiner will be in action tomorrow in the Azeri capital.

Michael O’Reilly, the current European Games middleweight champion,  and O’Neill are between the ropes on Monday.

The top five light-welters and middleweights qualify for Rio in Baku. Heavyweights and super-heavyweights must win gold as there is only one Rio 2016 place available in each weight.
