World middleweight boxing champion Andy Lee will be given a civic reception in his native Limerick when he returns to the city on Wednesday.
The announcement was made by the Mayor of Limerick, Cllr Kevin Sheehan, at a meeting of the city council.
The event will be a public one and it's expected the world champion will be available on the steps of City Hall to meet well-wishers.
Lee, who is from Castleconnell, beat the previously undefeated Matt Korobov in Las Vegas on Saturday night.
