Scott Quigg made a successful fifth defence of his WBA super-bantamweight title with a unanimous points win over Japan's Hidenori Otake at the Echo Arena in Liverpool.
The Bury 26-year-old wobbled his opponent in the second round but was ultimately forced to settle for a one-sided 12-round work-out.
Otake suffered a bloodied left eye in the tenth which required the doctor's attention and did well to withstand a fierce left hook in the 11th before Quigg took the 119-109 (twice), 118-110 verdicts.
Jamie McDonnell also successfully defended his WBA bantamweight title after opponent Javier Chacon retired midway through the 10th round of their contest.
McDonnell was given some problems by the Argentinian who came on strong through the middle rounds but the Doncaster man weathered the storm and looked set for a points win before his opponent was ruled out with an injured shoulder.
James Degale made an impressive statement in the super-middleweight division with a thumping third round stoppage of experienced Mexican Manuel Antonio Periban.
Periban, a former world title challenger, had been expected to test the Londoner but Degale was in no mood to hang around, toppling him with two big lefts at the start of the round and prompting referee Howard Foster to intervene with Periban reeling in the ropes.
