Katie Taylor has won the first of three fights to be held over three days, seeing off the challenge of Croatia’s Marija Petric.

The Olympic, world and European champion was awarded a unanimous victory over four rounds against Petric in Cork’s Rochestown hotel.

Taylor fights again at the venue on Friday, against Switzerland’s Anais Kistler, before facing Kristin Carlson of the USA in Dungarvan on Saturday.

The three fights are part of Taylor’s preparation for the European Championships, which will take place in Bucharest in late May to early June.
