Katie Taylor claimed her fifth successive title and also scooped the Boxer of the Tournament award at the European Union Championships in Hungary today.

Kristina O’Hara, Jacqui Lynch, Graine Gavin and Amy Broadhurst also won gold in today’s Youth and Junior finals.

Taylor beat France’s Estelle Mosselly on a unanimous decision in her first tournament since securing lightweight gold at the London Olympics.

The victory - Ireland’s fifth gold medal win of the day – saw the Bray woman accrue her 15th major gold since 2005.

Lynch, Broadhurst and Gavin got the gold rush underway with three wins in the Junior finals.

O’Hara finished on top of the podium in the light-flyweight Youth decider.

Ciara Sheedy, Niamh Ball and Lianne Murphy won silver medals after losing out in their finals this afternoon.

The Ireland squad will return to Dublin tomorrow with a haul of five gold, three silver and seven bronze medals.
